In general, all the hotels in Russia offer you the bill that includes services charges. So, it is not mandatory to tip them. However, if you still prefer to tip the staff that serves you, you can do so at your will. Most of the hotels in Russia allow guests to offer small tips.
There are facilities to convert foreign currency into Rubles (the national currency in Russia). As per the current exchange rates, 1 USD is worth about 59 RUB and 1 GBP is worth about 78 RUB. Some vendors are willing to accept the major currencies such as USD and GBP, though there is a less preference for traveler’s cheques in Russia.

Russia is well known for very cold winters and rainy summers. However, the best time of the year to travel to Russia is from May to June or September to October.
When you travel to Russia, you should know that it is a country that expects people to maintain discipline. For instance, if you throw garbage in the street, you will be in trouble. Make sure that you don’t photograph policemen if you don’t have prior approval from the respective authorities. Never try to carry items like guns when you leave Russia; at the customs, you will be detained.
